Fun fact... when I was trying to figure out what kind of yummy food item I could maybe specialize in and start a business with - Croutons was one of my first choices 😂 I used to be a personal chef down in Laguna Beach, CA and croutons (scones too!) were something I would make for my clients and they would always get such rave reviews. Yes, it was a toss up between croutons and scones... hey I was going for unique! In the end, I went with the one that had way way more creative freedom which equals way more passion about my product ❤️

But tonight, as I was munching on these delicious buttery garlicky morsels... crunchy, yet juuuust slightly slightly chewy... I was thinking about how it might be fun to add them to a pre-order event one day as a special 🤔 I’ve literally never made anything other than scones to sell, since I started. But... these are just so yummy, I think I might just have to cave one of these days. Or am I just a weirdo in my love of a good crouton. Please tell me I’m not alone? 😂 Should I do it?? #nightmusingsofasconemaven

If you found yourself wishing for another opportunity to buy scones, well then I’ve got great news 😉 I will be having another pre-order/pickup/delivery event next Friday April 24th. The pre-order will go live on my website TOMORROW, Sunday April 19th at 5pm. I thought I’d switch it up and give some advance notice on when the sale will start! I will have lots of new frozen ready to bake options, as well a premium freshly baked box option. But, once they sell out, I will not have any re-stocks. Hoping to do these every Friday though, so there will be more chances to come :)

I haaaad to post about one of the flavours (pictured above) that will be in the freshly baked box... Maple, Apple & Pecan. It’s a light and fluffy scone, full of freshly cut juicy apple & buttery pecans. I also crushed up some cardamom pods in my mortar & pestle and added some finely chopped ginger that I candied. Then I topped it all off with a rich & silky maple glaze. I made this flavour up today for an upcoming collaboration ( hi @seaciderhouse hi @caffe_fantastico 👋🏻 ) and it was to die for. So I had to add it to the freshly baked box for Friday. I usually do a 4 pack, but this week it will be 5 - so I can share this glorious flavour with you all 😍

Phewf, I said this evening right? 20 mins before midnight 😎😜 Okay, so here’s some info on my upcoming pre-order & no contact pickup/delivery day. It will be this upcoming Friday April 10th. All details are on my website for times & pick-up points in Saanichton, Westshore and *close* to Downtown (Mayfair Mall). Due to the volume of orders, I am not able to offer delivery to Downtown or the Westshore, only the pickup points. I am able to continue to offer delivery to the Saanichton and Sidney communities *only*, at this time.

What will I have available you ask?? Where do I start ☺️ I will have A LOT of frozen ready-to-bake scone flavours with glaze packets, and I will have vegan, GF, GF/Vegan and Keto options available! Jars of homemade Devonshire (clotted) Cream. I will also have a freshly baked four pack of premium flavour option. This will include 1 each of these 4 flavours -

🍒Cherry🍒 sour cream old fashioned “Sconut.” ... Remember those discontinued Cherry donuts & Timbits from @timhortons ? Well I decided to bring it back in Scone/Donut hybrid form 😎

I just wanted to make a post to express a HUGE amount of gratitude to all of you... my wonderful customers 🥰 I was completely overwhelmed by all the orders and love that I received last week. Reading comments and messages about how much comfort or happiness my scones bring into your life... at a time like this. It is just wonderful to hear! It keeps me excited, motivated and passionate about my business. All feelings that are not as easy to come by these days 🥺

To those who came and picked up from the commercial kitchen - WOW! You were all total rockstars at keeping your social distance, it was SO impressive and lovely to see 👏🏻 I also greatly appreciated everyone’s patience in waiting to have their orders brought out to them. It was a learning curve for us with all of the new regulations, but we’ve got it all sorted out to be nice and quick for the next round!

Speaking of which... next round will be this upcoming Friday April 10th. My website and pre-order shop is currently getting a major overhaul from my wonderful husband of @dmcworksyyj . I’ll be posting more details/the link for that later this afternoon or evening. It will be mostly Frozen ready to bake with vegan, gluten-free and keto options, with a freshly baked box option as well. I will be doing pick-up points in the Westshore and closer to downtown too! Thank you again so much to everyone in this awesome city that I am fortunate to operate my business in ❤️ (A few of the pics from ppl baking their scones some great feedback and an exciting collab coming soon!!)

Hello to all my wonderful customers! First I have to say, I sure hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy ❤️ My husband, son and myself, are all fortunate to be in perfect health. I am the only one to leave my house for groceries (and with many precautions taken), so I’m sure that has everything to do with us not catching any sickness! Thank you for all of the thoughtful messages everyone has sent me, wondering if I’m okay, wondering if & when I will be baking scones, wondering what they can do or buy to help 🤗 I have needed to take some time to regroup & figure out what to do next. Cancelled events, no childcare & none of my regular staff being able to work make for big hurdles to jump! But, I am finally here to tell you about some exciting things!

I will now be offering no contact pick-up from the commercial kitchen space that I rent at 6824 Kirkpatrick Crescent, unit 3. As well as no contact delivery to the Saanichton & Sidney areas - from Mt. Newton Crossroads & north all the way ferries and everything in between! If there is a large demand for Downtown or Westshore deliveries I will definitely add a day to do either of those. Comment below if you’d like to see those as options!

I am also SO EXCITED to announce a new product... Frozen ready-to-bake scones, accompanied by generous portions of my yummy glazes! Now you can stock up your freezer with your favourite flavours & just pop them in the oven whenever a craving strikes. About 20-25 mins later you will have warm, freshly baked scones... ready to be glazed & devoured. Freezing them in their raw dough stage makes absolutely NO difference in flavour or texture. I mean theoretically they’d be coming out fresher than when I bake & sell them for markets 😂

I am sad to inform everyone that the @craftedfarmhousemarket that I was scheduled to be a vendor at, tomorrow March the 13th, has been cancelled (rescheduled TBA) I can’t even imagine how hard this decision was for Stephanie and Ashley to make! I sure do applaud them though, for keeping everyone’s health and safety of the community at front and center 👏🏻

My inboxes and email are flooding with questions on if I will be baking tomorrow or not, and have a sale from the kitchen I bake out of. I am sorry to say I will not be baking tomorrow or having a sale from the kitchen, as I also would not want to be responsible for bringing a group of people together.

I am hoping to do a pre-order/pick-up event for next Thursday though, as those are all grab and go and pre-paid, no money exchanged etc. I would do something special for this in that I would create a “build a box” system for my website, where you could pick and choose any and all flavours I end up being able to do (hopefully all of the ones from my last post). I need to know though... would you be interested in this? Would you order? It will be a big undertaking to get that set up for my website and for the task of boxing up individual orders, so I’m just hoping to get a good idea about how many would order that way. I would have the four pickup points in sidney, Saanichton, Mayfair Mall, and Westshore as per my usual pre-order events. Please sound off in the comments! I am sorry again that there will be no Scones for tomorrow, and hope everyone understands 🥺

Finally got a chance to bake up some beauties to take pictures of, so that you could see the vegan bundles in all their glory. I’m sitting here like... how... How is this vegan?! Even if you don’t eat a plant based diet, I would encourage you to try these because it’s pretty neat to taste how delicious it is 🤤😍🌱

One of the bundles is 4 straight up classic scones, a jar of @sarahsstaples sweet & tart ravishing raspberry jam and then I’ve made the jar of vegan butter from scratch, using @avirtualvegan recipe. I don’t know how on earth she came up with a recipe that tastes so much like the real thing. It melts into the warm scone like... butter 😜 I’m so grateful to Mel for letting me use her recipe so that you can all have the chance to enjoy it! Check out her page and her website - everything she makes is so good. She’s a local from here in Victoria too 👌🏻 Hooray for supporting local 🎉
